Radioulnar Synostosis

Female, 7.5 yo, 27 kg, mixed breed dog

presented with chronic 2 grade left forelimb lameness

Ex-stray adopted 2 years ago, history of Leishmania, currently Ab title under control.

regularly active without recent trauma reported.

Orthopedic examination did not detect abnormalities, x-ray with awake patient was performed on forelimb (medio-lateral view of elbows and dorso-palmar view of carpus).

Diagnosis of severe left Elbow Dysplasia with radio-ulnar synostosis presumably
as a result of an old fracture.

conservative treatment was proposed with NSAID in acute phase (carprofen), PEA, controlled activity and weight management.

On follow-up owner reported good response to proposed protocol.
